Justin Bieganek Accepts President-Elect Position
Beganik Strategy + Design Founder and Creative Director Justin Bieganek has been named president-elect for the College of Design, University of Minnesota’s Design Student & Alumni Board for the 2009–2010 school terms. As an alumnus, Justin has been proud to give back to the College of Design. Justin says: “It keeps me fresh and challenged, and I really enjoy nurturing young talent through real world examples. I wish I had experienced more of this type of mentoring before I started my own business.”
The objectives of the board are to host events to better aid students’ journey from college to career. Professionals working in the field give the students a taste of what the industry is like. Students and professionals represent a variety of design curriculums including graphic design, architecture, apparel, retail merchandising, housing, interior design, and landscape architecture.
Justin has been attending Design Student and Alumni Board events preparing for his turn as president this fall. His agenda for 2009–10 includes building a stronger identity for the board and increasing the awareness, consistency and transparency of the organization. Most of all he hopes that the students have fun while they get a glimpse into their future.
