Beganik Recognized at the AIGA Minnesota Design Show 2010

AIGA is the professional association for design. The AIGA Design Show – judged by a panel of nationally recognized design professionals – features the region’s best work. This year’s winners were unveiled at the Walker Art Center on Friday, March 26. When the winners were revealed, we were honored to find two of our own projects included.

Joshua T. Root Identity System

The first Creative Block Award went to the identity system that we designed for The Law Offices of Joshua T. Root. Josh offers the kind of “old-fashioned” service that's no longer common among attorneys. For his logo, we illustrated his signature bow-tie in a wood-cut style that recalls a simpler time. Classic textile patterns and metallic inks give the identity an approachable sophistication. Check out the design for yourself in our work section.

Beganik BBQ Bash Invitation

The second Creative Block Award went to the invitation to our very own BBQ Bash. The invitations featured all of the vital information about the BBQ in a chart of meat cuts and were printed on “rib bibs.” We wrapped the bibs in butcher paper and custom-made stamps added a final touch of humor. See more of the project in our work section.

While we usually focus on the strategy behind our design, we also want to acknowledge that design is a form of artistic expression. Unlike painters, sculptors or other artists whose signature immediately identifies their work, designers are anonymous. When the world sees great design work, it's typically the client who gets the credit. While it's fun to be recognized, we are simply thankful for great clients and are happy to give you all of the credit that’s due.
